Sustainability

Coventry Golf Club puts sustainability at the heart of all we do, aiming to enhance the playing experience for members and visitors alike.

In 2012 we became the first golf club in England to be awarded the internationally recognised Golf Environment Organisation (GEO) award and we have twice since achieved re-certification, most recently in 2019.

GEO set the industry standards for the sustainable management of golf facilities, having regard to Nature, Resources and Community and is promoted by the R&A and others.

We are really proud of our partnership with Warwickshire Wildlife Trust who have supported the club in developing a Habitat Plan, install an Otter Holt, a Wildflower Meadow and provide guided nature walks for members.

Through installation of Photo Voltaic Cells on our roof and the use of fully treated final effluent from the adjacent sewage works to irrigate our greens, we have reduced our use of energy and potable water and saved money.

We are delighted to be able to support a number of local charities and provide our facilities for many fund raising events.

Our work relating to sustainability is led by our dedicated Environment Group that reports to our Management Committee who support our approach of continuous improvement.
